As a Mechanical Engineer I have spent the last 30 years in the engineering industry working in various engineering disciplines. I took over as General Manager from my father and co-founder of Page Macrae Engineering, George Macrae, in 1992 when he retired.  These days the general day to day running of the company is run by a capable team of Managers led by Mike Lehan as General Manager of the Company. I am kept informed and up to date on a regular basis allowing me to provide the overall strategic management of the business.

I joined Page Macrae Engineering in 2000 as Contracts Manager running the Projects Department and have recently taken on the General Managers role from Ian Macrae. I have over 25 years experience in the engineering industry spanning Australia and New Zealand which has included chemical process, mechanical engineering and implementation of capital projects. I have had the opportunity to be involved with Page Macrae Engineering through an exciting high growth period which is set to continue well into the future. I am looking forward to the challenges ahead and working with the team to achieve our goals. .

Pip Ritchie

PA to Managing Director and General Manager

Following my education in Hamilton and Tauranga and several office jobs, I moved to London for 6 years with my husband.  We travelled extensively basing ourselves in London where I took on some challenging roles in the corporate world of investment banking. I commenced employment at Page Macrae Engineering in 2005, taking up several office administration roles until my current position as PA to the Managing Director (Ian Macrae) and General Manager (Mike Lehan). I enjoy a challenge and have many interests that include cycling, golf, travelling and watching NZ beat anyone in rugby.

Todd Ritchie

Company Accountant

I was born and educated in Tauranga. After working for KMPG Chartered Accountants for 7 years, I embarked on an OE which saw me contract management accounting for 6 years in London. Following my return to New Zealand, I joined Page Macrae Engineering in 2004 in my current role as Company Accountant. I enjoy all types of outdoor adventure activities in particular skiing, mountain climbing, tramping and general fitness.

Tiggy Clayton

Production Manager

I trained and qualified in the UK prior to emigrating to NZ in the 70’s.  Upon arriving in NZ I undertook a variety of work within various industries such as domestic building and commercial fishing.  I then returned to the UK in 1979 on a 2 year contract to develop and promote a new range of lifting equipment.  Returning to NZ I was both a Plant Manager and Chief Engineer for Affco NZ for 14 years.  In the mid 90’s I joined Page Macrae Engineering. My role as Production Manager sees me specialising in multi run production fabrications and welding. Brian Sorrenson

Production Supervisor

My 30 years experience in engineering began with Page Macrae Engineering in 1980. I have gained experience in petrochemical, ship repairs, chemical plants, pipe work, storage tanks, pulp & paper plants, machinery repairs and forestry equipment. I then moved to Australia for eight years and worked in engineering making concrete moulds, repairs to earthmoving equipment and some structural work. Shane Anderson

Stainless Steel Manager

I’ve been in the engineering industry since 1975, starting with specialised machinery, welding and research and development of all types of mechanical engineering. I’ve also been involved with the manufacturing and operation of drilling rigs. I joined Page Macrae Engineering in 1984 where I was involved with on-site installation projects, ammonia/refrigeration piping and steam, chemical plant maintenance. I started out as a Fitter/Welder for Page Macrae Engineering in 1984 and was involved in shipping and stainless steel welding in the pulp & paper industry. I moved into the Stainless Steel department in 1989 so it’s fair to say I enjoy the finer tolerances & cleanliness of stainless steel work. Roger Chubb

Piping Manager

I have been in the engineering industry since 1975. I started in general engineering and moved onto specialising in piping, petrochemical, bitumen plants, low temperature pipework, pipeline manufacture and installations and high pressure pipe work. I worked for Page Macrae Engineering in the Piping Department in the early nineties for a few years. I then left to pursue personal interests before rejoining in 2006, taking over the role as Piping Manager.  I enjoy fishing, diving and boating and have even been involved with bull riding in rodeo’s. Mike Sorrenson

Piping Supervisor

I began my career in the engineering industry in 1988 by commencing my apprenticeship with Page Macrae Engineering. Since completing my trade as a Fitter/Welder I have primarily been in the Piping Department for Page Macrae Engineering ever since, apart from a 5 year period contracting throughout New Zealand. My role with the company sees me out on site a lot of the time liaising with the customer, along with coordinating the day to day running of projects for the crew. I believe it’s important to make sure materials and gear are ready to go as good coordination and communication is key to an efficiently run project and a happy crew. Peter Swan (Swany)

Manufacturing Manager

My role within Page Macrae Engineering encompasses a wide range of areas which include tendering/quoting, financial and staff management and developing and maintaining relationships with clients and suppliers. My diverse background in engineering fabrication, projects, hydraulics and steam generation prior to joining Page Macrae Engineering in 2000, has allowed me to pursue my passion for finding engineering solutions for clients. After graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) in 1995, I spent time in both the pulp & paper and construction industries before I started with Page Macrae Engineering in 2005 as a Project Engineer. Since then I have moved into the role of Contracts Manager managing the Projects Department. This entails liaising with new and existing customers, quoting and tendering and overseeing the Project Managers with current projects. Bruce Ennis

Cargo Handling Equipment Manager

I began with Page Macrae Engineering in 1991 after moving back to New Zealand with my family from UK. I started with Page Macrae Engineering working in the shipping department undertaking repairs and modifications to ships in our busy port. The Port of Tauranga continued to play an important role in my working life with a move to focusing on the designing, manufacturing and repairing of cargo handling equipment. We were recently successful with our grabs in the Austrailian Bulk Handling Awards 2010, winning the innovative award and were also finalists in the International Bulk Journal 2010 awards. I have been working in the engineering industry since 1982 and joined Page Macrae Engineering 1992. I previously managed the Manufacturing Department then moved into Project Management. I was involved in the recent geothermal power station projects in both Kawerau and Rotokawa (Taupo).  My role involves tendering, project managing and client relations. Bruce McLean

Coatings Manager

I am trade qualified in aircraft engineering in the RNZAF with an NZCE, BE Mechanical & post graduate aero-systems engineering training with the RAF in the UK.  About half of my 35 years professional experience has been in aviation related industries – both military & civil airline operations, maintenance, repair & overhaul and design experience in the USA.    I have lived and worked in Australia, UK, USA (twice) and back in New Zealand have worked in manufacturing in heavy industry, transport, forestry, wood processing and general industrial component manufacturing.   I joined Page Macrae Engineering in 2010 in a developmental role to help with the set up of a Coatings operation.  Since then, we have re-commissioned a commercial scale PVD vacuum coating plant and have recently commenced operations with a variety of new customers.  We are currently looking to complement this with an innovative plasma spray system & in the medium term, an ion beam coating plant.  Future support of the emergent titanium industry is a key coatings’ strategy. My interests include performance engine building and pretty much any high power to weight ratio motorsport, music, chillies and fly fishing. For further information see: Coatings

Ross Fraser-Brown (Roscoe)

Quality Assurance Manager

My role primarily began with overseeing the management of ISO 9001 – 2008. Since then I have achieved the qualification as a Welding Inspector (CBIP) so I now oversee all projects with regard to quality control of workmanship and documentation along with management and development of new processes and procedures. Previous experience includes Fitter/Welder by trade, along with experience in aluminum race boat construction, drag & circuit race car construction, farm implements, saw mill machinery construction, structural steel, general engineering including shipping repairs & maintenance and piping.  I have also had a brief stint in acting including extensive training in stunt-work with weapons, animals and vehicles. Paul Johnson

Health & Safety Advisor

Upon returning from my OE of 8 years living in Tokyo Japan in 1998, I started working as a stevedore at the Port of Tauranga. It was the nature of this work that ignited my interest in health & safety. I became involved in H&S – both from a Union and company perspective. Seeking more knowledge, I enrolled at Massey University, completing a Graduate Diploma of Occupational Safety & Health (GradDipOSH) in 2008. In January 2012, I started as a fulltime H&S Advisor for Page Macrae Engineering. I passionately believe in the right for everyone to go home from work with all their limbs and their health intact - so that their lives can be lived to the full with the ones that they love. Grant Holland (Pixie)

Apprentice & Training Coordinator

I began my engineering career, with an apprenticeship in Waipu, Northland in 1976. After qualifying as a Fitter Turner I worked in Whangarei for a couple of years before leaving for the United Kingdom and abroad. I spent the next 17 years working on many engineering projects, including London’s Big Ben Clock Tower, the Centrepoint Tower, NatWest Building and Shanghai’s HSBC Building.  In 1998 I returned to New Zealand, where I worked for Stewart & Cavalier, in Te Awamatu, for 5 years. I joined the Page Macrae team in 2003, initially working in the Stainless Steel department before moving into the Manufacturing department. In 2009, I took on the new role of Apprentice & Training Co-ordinator. This role entails managing the Page Macrae Apprenticeship Program along with Competenz, to ensure that all of our apprentices become quality trades people. Fiona Wilson

Office Manager

Born and raised in Matamata on a dairy farm, I moved to Tauranga in 1992, where I worked for Bay of Plenty Federated Farmers as their Office Clerk for 5 years and then Office Manager for 1 year.  I started with Page Macrae Engineering in 1999 as Receptionist, moving through to Payroll and then eventually to my current position as Office Manager. This role includes heading the administration and finance team and ensuring the smooth running of all administration and accounts for the company. I am heavily involved with indoor bowls and currently represent Tauranga, North Island and recently New Zealand!  I have travelled extensively over New Zealand and a little overseas in particular the UK, Europe and Rarotonga.  I enjoy outdoor bowls on a social level along with fishing, especially competing against the boys in our annual fishing competition!
